UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou is in the news as he is on the brink of a departure from the UFC unless he signs a new deal. This will make him a free agent, and there will be no shortage of suitors should ‘The Predator’ opt to take this route. One promotion has declared its interest in adding the Cameroonian to their ranks.

Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship founder David Feldman showed keen interest in signing the UFC champion, Francis Ngannou. Feldman announced BKFC will be signing a lot of new fighters after their recent collaboration with Triller.

In an interview with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, Feldman was asked about who they would sign. He replied, “We’re going after the biggest name but we’ll see what happens there… The biggest name in free agency.”

When asked if BKFC would sign Francis Ngannou, Feldman answered, “I’m not sure if he’s out of that window yet, but we’re definitely making a play for him…At that stage you’re talking about money, right? And if we can, if we can back that kind of money up, we’re in the game. I don’t think we’re out of the game for anything right now.”

Did the UFC know about the injury Francis Ngannou had before UFC 270?

After absolutely dominating Ciryl Gane at UFC 270 last month, ‘The Predator’ showed the world that he is the best heavyweight on the planet right now. The magnitude of his win increased when Francis Ngannou revealed he was suffering from severe injuries that had him contemplating pulling out of the main event.

In an interview with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, Ngannou’s coach spoke about his injury. Eric Nicksick revealed it happened while ‘The Predator’ was training for his title defense at UFC 270.

“We went to the [UFC] PI and got looked at the next day. He had MRI, and it was a full MCL tear, and then he had damage to the ACL as well,” said Nicksick.

Helwani went on to ask Nicksick if the UFC knew about the injury before the fight. To that, he answered, “They knew about it…Yeah, they knew about it. Nah, they’re not going to do us any favors, bro.”
