Despite this, he eventually achieved the title of UFC middleweight champion as well as the light heavyweight title. Pereira’s journey is nothing but a Hollywood movie.

Pereira’s intense alcohol abuse and unhealthy lifestyle dragged him down the pits of hell. Pereira knew that if he continued on this abusive path he would not live long in the streets of favelas. He embraced the way of fighting through sheer focus and since then he has not looked back. This new year Pereira shared a picture of his transformation, thus starting the year with positivity.

He used his Instagram account to upload the photo and captioned it as follows: “Passing by here to wish a happy new year and to show my evolution from 2009 to 2023 not only physically but as a person in general and those who keep up know! A lot of things have happened and I’m here reflecting and I feel compelled to come here to try and motivate all of you who always take the time to check on me. I wish you all that 2024 will be the best year ever. Never give up on your dreams G O D A T.”

Addin͏g to his accolades, “Poatan͏” was honoured with induction into ͏the ͏Glory Kickboxing Hall of Fame. It is undeniable that 2024 stands as Per͏eira’s year͏ of͏ triumph.

Defeating Jiri Prochazka and getting the title was the highlight of the year, however, the fighter has a new set of challenges in front of him now.
