Dana White is a man of many talents. Fight promoter extraordinaire, former boxer, resourceful bellhop, and now, actor. The UFC CEO, of course, is gearing up for UFC Noche (306), the most expensive UFC event in the promotion’s three-decade history at the iconic Sphere in Las Vegas.

And the Las Vegas resident is going all out, sparing no expense (literally and figuratively) to create hype for the event. To this end, White, along with Hollywood superstar Tom Hardy, appeared on a promotional skit to market the Noche card and the latter’s upcoming film, ‘Venom: The Last Dance.’

In the short clip that has gone viral on MMA internet, Hardy, in character as Eddie Brock (with the eponymous Venom symbiote inside him), walks into the UFC CEO’s office in the promotion’s HQ in Las Vegas. Why? Well, naturally to ask the millionaire for some gambling money.

After all, Hardy (or rather Brock), knowing full well how much the Power Slap founder loves gambling, must have thought that White would be able to empathize with the predicament he was in and lend a helping hand. But, it seems, he wasn’t aware of the UFC CEO’s stinginess (unlike many fighters in his promotion).

White, predictably refuses to give anything to Hardy, telling him to take a hike. Predictably, this didn’t go down well with the latter. So what does he do? He goes away. Or does he? Soon White could hear screams from the other room and goes there to discover, to his horror, UFC 306 headliner and bantamweight champ, Sean O’Malley being choked out by Hardy. This, of course, is enough to convince the UFC CEO to throw a wad of cash at Hardy, who promptly leaves, leaving a bewildered White and O’Malley to come to terms with what happened. While the two men may have been shocked by the whole affair, fans found it hilarious.

Fans react to Dana White appearing in promo for ‘Venom: The Last Dance’

Amused fans took to the internet to give their own hilarious reactions to the promo. One fan was so impressed with White’s acting that he felt he deserved an Academy Award for the performance, “Dana getting an Oscar for this 🏆 😂🙌.”

Another fan, perhaps forgetting that the Venom symbiote gives Brock/Hardy superhuman powers and that it was a fictional skit, felt ‘Suga’ being choked showed he wouldn’t be able to compete with Merab Dvalishvili on their UFC 306 clash, “Imagine what Merab is gonna do”

Another fan shared this inability to grasp the concept of a scripted skit, and felt Hardy catching O’Malley in a rear naked choke somehow meant the champ wouldn’t be able to get through Dvalishvili’s world-class grappling skills, “And people still think Merab loses to this guy. 😂😂😂”

Another fan, clearly impressed by Hardy’s technique, even if it was in a promo, pointed out that the English Hollywood star was in fact a bona fide martial artist, “Tom Hardy is a jujitsu champion btw.” Another fan simply expressed their amusement at the unexpected crossover, which they felt was an excellent way to market the UFC event and the film, “This is peak promo 😂hilarious.” What are your thoughts on the promo?
