Gilbert Burns is one of the toughest welterweights on the UFC roster. Being the nice guy he is, ‘Durinho’ was quick to accept a challenge from Khamzat Chimaev via personal chats. Now, it looks like Chimaev will get his wish as the #2 contender of the UFC’s welterweight division, Gilbert Burns, has confirmed the date of their fight.

One reason to accept the fight was to dismantle the hype around ‘Borz’ and another was the Brazilian’s quest to conquer everyone in his division.

During an interview with The Schmo, Burns subtly reminded the MMA world that he is not someone to take lightly, “I think he’s confident. He says whatever he wants. I think he’s very good but I am the biggest that he’s gonna see and I am excited; you know. I respect the guy. I think he’s very, very, tough, but let him be a little overconfident and think he’s gonna walk.”

Gilbert Burns predicts a finish for Jorge Masvidal at UFC 272

Fans speculate this matchup is going to be a one-sided brawl for ‘Chaos’, but Burns (20-4) has a totally different opinion. ‘Durinho’ thinks that this is match is too important for ‘Gamebred’ and he knows the risk associated with a third consecutive loss.

Hence, Burns opined Masvidal is working super hard for the match. That belief has persuaded the Brazilian to believe that we are up for an upset win at UFC 272. “I see Masvidal getting a finish, to be honest,” said ‘Durinho’.
