Gilbert Burns & Khamzat Chimaev Trade Verbal Blows After Agreeing to a Date for Their UFC Fight

Khamzat Chimaev and Gilbert Burns have been eager to fight each other for a while. However, they only exchanged words online with no official date in sight.

After virtually confirming that they are going to fight at the 4th UFC pay-per-view event of the year (UFC 273), both men had yet another back-and-forth.

Chimaev reminded ‘Durinho’ of the date of their match, “@GilbertDurinho 9 April.” 

However, Burns, who is not someone to duck an opportunity, fired a shot at the rising welterweight. He tweeted, “I’m ready! Make sure you get your visa ready! The hype will be over soon!”

At present, the Swede (10-0, 4-0 in the UFC with four finishes) is one of the most popular MMA fighters in the fraternity and boasts millions of followers across all social media platforms.

Yes, Khamzat Chimaev has a YouTube channel that goes by his name. He recently joined YouTube in a bid to soar his popularity with the medium of content.

‘Borz’ has been pretty successful in it as well. Just in a week after the launch of his YouTube channel, ‘The Lone Wolf’ was able to amass over 50 thousand subscribers on the platform.

The Chechnya-born Swede, Khamzat Chimaev, enjoys a fan following in millions and is very popular outside of the MMA community as well. He still has a long way to go in his UFC career, with a plethora of ranked fighters standing in front of him.

Chimaev has been trying to find an opponent to give him a real test in the division. As he has been unsuccessful, he aimed at the top of his division. However, he was dismissed quickly because of his low ranking. Finally, it was Burns who agreed to fight Chimaev on short notice.
