Darren Till’s Fight Outside the Octagon

After his last defeat to Robert Whittaker in 2020, ‘The Gorilla’ stayed away from the octagon. The (18-3) record holder was one of the best fighters in the division. However, Till had to face hard tests during his time away from the octagon.

Recently, in an interview with MMA Junkie, ‘The Gorilla opened up about his injuries and troublesome time during his off period. Till said, “I’m just happy to be here. It’s tough. It’s tough to have injuries and go through camps after camps and spend a lot of money and, you know, obviously have to pull out.”

He added, “I mean, the last fight was very unfortunate because it was only like two or three weeks before where I broke my collarbone. I mean, if it was 10 weeks before the fight and I broke my collarbone, I was definitely still fighting. But it’s just it reminds me a lot of like when Dominick Cruz was getting a lot of setbacks and injuries. You’ve just got to come through them, and you’ve got to come through them, and here I am a few days before, and I’m a very happy man.”

However, ‘The Gorilla’ will now face the #5 Derek Brunson and it will surely excite many to see how Till performs in his return. A win against Brunson will surely raise Till’s rank in the division.
