Now, he’ll take on the interim champion Ciryl Gane. ‘Bon Gamin’ is undefeated in his professional MMA career and is 7-0 in his UFC career. He dismantled Derrick Lewis in their interim title fight and stopped him in the third round. This is a fight that is being dubbed as power vs. speed, and Gane is looking like a serious threat to Ngannou’s title.

The current light heavyweight champion, Glover Teixeira, was recently asked about the fight. He said, “Wow! This fight, I’m excited for this fight. I want to watch this fight and it’s gonna be like power vessels, Muhammad Ali right. I would say, George Foreman, Muhammad Ali, kind of disguised. One is pure power, the other has the technique, flow. He jump around, he hit fast, moves, so I see him like Muhammad Ali.”

“But I don’t know the result is gonna be the same. In my opinion, Francis Ngannou is too powerful right now. He’s on a mission, and man, he’s getting better and better every time we see him. In my opinion, he’s gonna win.”

Can Ciryl Gane dethrone Francis Ngannou?

Francis Ngannou is one of the most feared strikers in all of MMA. He has shown his power numerous times and has won 12 of his 16 fights via knockout. ‘The Predator‘ is currently on a five-fight win streak and has won all those fights via T/KO.

However, his next opponent can be the one to nullify Ngannou’s power game. Ciryl Gane is one of the fastest heavyweights in the world. Despite being a heavyweight, his movements around the octagon are like a middleweight fighter.

In the fight against Derrick Lewis, another hard-hitter, Gane used his slick movements and great cardio to stay out of the punching range of Lewis. He systematically broke down ‘The Black Beast’ and TKO’d him in the third round.

Gane is undefeated in his professional fighting career, and along with speed, also possesses incredible power. He might just prove to be the toughest test in Ngannou’s career, and it won’t be a surprise if he comes out with a win.
