“Go and Get Two or Three Fights”- Former UFC Champion Demetrious Johnson Has Some Advice for Henry Cejudo

Demetrious Johnson is unquestionably a legend in the MMA world. Johnson has the most finishes in UFC flyweight history. He also has the ONE Flyweight World Grand Prix title. He is presently ranked #1 in the ONE Championship flyweight rankings.
The ‘Mighty Mouse’ is widely regarded as one of the best MMA fighters in the world. Johnson has been around for a while, having made his initial appearance in 2007. He defeated Henry Cejudo, Joseph Benavidez, John Dodson, Kyoji Horiguchi, Miguel Torres, and Norifumi Yamamoto, and many remarkable fighters. Demetrious Johnson recently made an appearance in an interview in the 54th episode of Just Scrap Radio on BJPENN.com.

During the interview, he discussed a variety of subjects, one of which being the comeback of former UFC bantamweight champion Henry Cejudo. ‘The Messenger’ has lately stated his desire to return and challenge Volkanovski for the featherweight championship. It would be a fascinating fight, and Volkanovski has stated that he wants to remain active, so the timing is ideal since Max Holloway is scheduled to face Yair Rodriguez in November.

“I think he will do great. Volkanovski is not like a big dude, height-wise or reach-wise. I think he will do fine. Henry Cejudo is pretty thick right now, so I think it would be fine. “ Johnson commented on Just Scrap Radio. “The biggest thing, in my opinion, is if Henry wants to fight him like he’s still in the UFC, so just work your way up to him. But he just wants to have that one-off fight to fight him. If he does want to fight him, go and get two or three fights in the featherweight division, get in line as everybody else does, and earn your shot.”

Former UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson will face ONE flyweight Muay-Thai champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon in a mixed special rules bout at ONE X, the ONE Championship 10-year anniversary show, on December 5th in Singapore.
