Khabib Nurmagomedov put out a statement on his Twitter saying that the welterweight division should boycott Covington and not take a fight with him. Many people reacted to Khabib’s statement. One of them was renowned author and talk show host, Candace Owens.

Owens called out the former UFC Lightweight champion. Owens not only took a shot at ‘The Eagle’ but even dragged NBA into this scuffle. She said, “This is so embarrassing. Calling for a boycott. He better go buy a pu**y hat and join the NBA. MMA is a man’s sport.” 

Covington allegedly got sucker-punched by his teammate-turned-rival Jorge Masvidal outside a restaurant in Miami. Masvidal’s reason to hit Covington was that Covington ‘spoke badly about his kids’.

Similarly, even Khabib had a problem with Covington dragging Masvidal’s family into his trash-talk. “I think all welterweights should refuse to fight Colby, just don’t accept fights with him, let him sit without a fight,” said Nurmagomedov.

Colby Covington, who is popular in the UFC for his trash-talking skills, has recently targeted the families of fighters. For example, ‘Chaos’ had also insulted the wife of Dustin Poirier.

Similarly, Covington mentioned Masvidal’s wife and kids at the UFC 272  press conference.

This is not the first time that Owens has voiced her support for Covington. The conservative activist is in fact a friend of the UFC welterweight. “I love UFC. I first started getting into UFC, [When] I became friends with Colby Covington. And so I went into the fight before I knew Dana. I went to a Colby Covington fight. Absolutely love Colby,” she said.

Candace Owens also invited the UFC Superstar Colby Covington to her show as a special guest.
