

Javier Mendez is probably the most successful coach out there. The Mexican-American runs an MMA gym by the name of American Kickboxing Academy in the United States. This is where he transforms combat sports newbies into champions. Now, Mendez has some advice for Charles Oliveira.

Notably, Mendez has been a coach to many generations of UFC champions. Starting from BJ Penn, Cain Velasquez and Daniel Cormier. And the latest being the Russian mauler, Khabib Nurmagomedov. With that said, there should be no doubts about Mendez’s qualifications.

Meanwhile, as Conor McGregor nears his UFC return and just a month left for Makhachev vs. Dariush fight, fans are speculating who ‘Do Bronx’ will choose for his second title defense. However, Mendez is crystal clear about his opinions, as he straight forward advises Oliveira to “Go for the money.”

“Probably, if that gonna put, I mean the UFC is a business; they are gonna do what they are gonna do. So, I would think that you know, look what Dustin did. What Dustin do? Went for the title or go for the money? He went for the money,” Mendez said.“So, whoever’s gonna provide the most money for Charles is where I believe he’s gonna go.”

Remarkably, Mendez also stressed the fact that Oliveira has already made himself a status in the MMA world. Hence, he should now look to secure a fat purse for himself, as he already owns the lightweight strap.

Although Mendez didn’t leave a chance to stake a claim for his disciple, Islam Makhachev (21-1).

In the same interview with Helen Yee, Mendez shared his analysis. “But who deserves to be there as far as by you know like win percentage, it should be the Islam and his match. You know, with the Beneil, it shouldn’t be anybody else because they can get more eyeballs to the screen.”
