According to Rogan, Prochazka‘s injury was the worst that the UFC doctors had ever seen. “His shoulder was the worst shoulder they had ever seen,” said Rogan. Apparently, Prochazka‘s shoulder had popped out of its socket during training camp, and his teammates had tried to force it back in. Unfortunately, this only made the injury worse.

Making his UFC debut in 2020, Prochazka was very quick to rise to the ranks. He managed to fight for the title in his third fight at the UFC. He defeated Glover Teixeira to win the UFC light heavyweight title via submission. Prochazka‘s initial plans were to face Teixeira in a rematch, but his shoulder injury did not let him.

He then decided to vacate his title. Joe Rogan and Jamahal Hill also talked about Prochazka‘s move to vacate the title on the podcast episode #136 of JRE MMA. Rogan explained that Prochazka could have just held on to the title, and then UFC would have introduced an interim title. Hill explained Prochazka‘s action as a “bad move” for both the former UFC champion’s legacy and the business.
