Max Holloway has proven on several occasions that he is a fighter with fire inside. He has taken the MMA community to the edge of their seats with his brilliant fights. Holloway was reigning as the UFC featherweight champion until Alexander Volkanovski entered the scene. He lost his featherweight belt against Volkanovski when they locked horns at UFC 245 on December 14, 2019. Later, Holloway fought for the title against ‘The Great’ two times, but unfortunately, he lost all the bouts against the Australian fighter.

At the moment, footage from the bout between Holloway and Calvin Kattar has captured the attention of UFC superstar Conor McGregor. McGregor is someone who held the featherweight championship while he was in his prime. When ‘The Notorious’ came across the mind-blowing punches of Holloway, he sent a grim warning to his former opponent.

The bout between Max Holloway and Calvin Kattar was a wild affair. The two locked horns at the UFC on ABC 1 on January 16, 2021. During the bout, fans witnessed a highly charged-up Holloway who was determined to finish his opponent. In the middle of the fight, the 31-year-old turned away from his opponent and shouted at the broadcast team, who were seated at the cage side, that he was the best boxer in the promotion.

When the former UFC double champion came across the video posted by Fight Humor, he shared it on his Instagram story. After sharing the video, he wrote, “I gonna box you around the cage Max for this comment alone.A few days ago, McGregor called himself the featherweight GOAT, and now he has warned one of the best fighters in the division. Currently, McGregor is rumored to be coming back to the UFC to fight Michael Chandler at UFC 296. However, it seems that the Irishman has a number of opponents in mind, and one of them is Holloway.

The funny incident at UFC Fight Night 26

Max Holloway and Conor McGregor locked horns back in 2013. During that time, the Irishman was new to the UFC, and the fight fans had little idea about the potential he carried within. Holloway and McGregor put forward an interesting fight at UFC Fight Night 26. After the end of round three, the UFC superstar, Conor McGregor, won the bout via decision. Last month, Holloway recalled a funny incident from the bout between the two.

Holloway remembered trapping the Irishman in a partial guard and striking him on the knee. This caused the former UFC double champion to scream in pain. Being the sportsman that ‘Blessed’ is, he paused to check on his opponent. However, McGregor insisted they continue the bout regardless of the pain he suffered.
