What happened in the fight between Robert Whittaker and Gastelum?

The fight between Whittaker and Gastelum showed us how good a fighter ‘The Reaper’ is. The former champion showed all-around skill as he maintained suitable space between himself and Gastelum. The Australian mixed martial artist moved well and used his left hand effectively.

The fight was always going to be difficult for the shorter Gastelum, and every time he got in and connected a shot, Whittaker came back with two of his own. The fighter moved so well that he did not give Gastelum any chance to inflict any damage.

The main event could have ended way earlier, as Whittaker had hit the beautiful one-two and head kick combo that stunned Gastelum. However, the pattern was established as Whittaker controlled proceedings throughout to go 3-0 since losing the belt.
