The Stockton-born brothers are probably amongst the most popular fighters not just in the UFC but in all of the combat sports as well. Although there are quite a few incidents that display this aspect of the Diaz brothers and the ‘skrap pack’, one incident that stands out was the infamous Nashville brawl that took place in 2010 during a Strikeforce event

Jason Miller kicks off a brawl after Jake Shields win during Strikeforce: Nashville 2010

The infamous incident was kicked off Jason Miller when he went up to Jake Shields during the latter’s post-fight interview. As he tried to ask for a rematch, Shields‘ teammates tried to push him away. Nick Diaz, who was also present at the moment, threw the first punch, which resulted in a huge brawl. Gilbert Melendez and Nate Diaz too joined in and attacked Mayhem as he was restrained on the canvas.

Eventually, officials and other members had to break up the scuffle. The incident had such a massive influence that MMA did not make an appearance on television until the next year.
