Colby Covington has often found his way to the headlines due to his altercations with many personalities. However, UFC Vegas 73 revealed a side of ‘Chaos’ that only a chosen few have seen. He won over the world’s hearts after Themba Gorimbo revealed what the fighter did for him when he was financially struggling. 

After securing his first-ever victory in the UFC, Gorimbo went ahead and thanked Covington’s gym, the MMA Masters. Furthermore, he dropped a bombshell about Covington’s kind gesture. He revealed that when he was really struggling with finance, it was ‘Chaos’ who would bring him food at the gym. Without a doubt, the deed has earned Covington many more supporters. While many diss the fighter, Gorimbo seemed to stay beside Covington, disregarding what everyone else had to say about him. He claimed that Covington was indeed a great man.

UFC contender expresses gratitude for Colby Covington

Covington has received much hatred and sympathy from the MMA world after his physical altercation with Jorge Masvidal in Miami. The welterweight fighter has seldom appeared in the headlines with a positive aspect. However, that is set to change now.

At UFC Fight Night 73, Gorimbo declared how great of a man Covington was. He narrated the time when he had no money and was truly struggling to make ends meet. But ‘Chaos’ didn’t seem to be as harsh as life. He used to bring food to the gym for Gorimbo. The minor act of kindness has apparently bound Gorimbo to Covington in eternal gratitude.

Gorimbo said, “Colby Covington, he’s such a great guy. I mean, Colby Covington, sometimes you bring food for me at the gym, you know. And people say what they want to say about him. But that guy is a great man, man. You have to know him to kind of know him. Just like me, you have to know me to know me, you know. At the end of the day, it’s business.”

Nevertheless, Covington’s kind-hearted persona also showed itself recently when he praised Conor McGregor.

Covington commends Conor McGregor for a kind donation

Recently, Submission Radio shared an Instagram post about an interview with Covington. Although the post showed ‘Chaos’ talking about a possible fight against Conor McGregor, he couldn’t back away from commending his generous donation. 

In a comment, ‘Chaos’ sent a shout-out to the former UFC double champion. He wrote, “Only facts. And big shout out to @thenotoriousmma for donating a million to first responders in America.”
