UFC middleweight starlet Bo Nickal has surely been a head-turner with his dominant winning reign after stepping foot in the realm of the MMA. Nickal is undoubtedly headed for supremacy since he had continued his winning streak. But did you know this UFC aspect once battled in a grappling contest? Not only that, but he was up against none other than Gordon Ryan, an icon in BJJ.

The fight between the two took place in 2019 and was potentially able to gain headlines again after an Instagram account shared a glimpse of the event. After all, a young sensation now and a starlet back then competed against each other.

The video was posted by a well-known sports media house, Haymakers, as they had an idea that this could surely come to everyone’s lips. The post had a caption which said, “Bo Nickal entered Gordon Ryan’s World”. Their post included a brief look at the bout between the two titans, which was enough to spark the attention of the fans.

The video clearly showcased a tough battle between both the fighters Third Coast Grappling Championship. Nickal had a clear plan for the fight: avoid Ryan’s tricks and time his slams.

For the first 12 minutes, he kept himself committed and avoided being pinned and attacked by submission efforts. Both went all out, as their efforts were evident, and showed their eagerness to win. Because of the unique regulations, Ryan was unable to attack for leglocks. It was visible that Nickal was giving a tough battle to the BJJ great. But eventually Ryan succeeded in being victorious and was able to stand tall.

What did the fans say about the highlights?

The resurrected video seemed to elicit mixed responses from the fans. The fans across the realms of the UFC, who were present in large numbers, voiced their opinions.

Comparing both the contestants, one fan said, “guy on juice who focuses on jujitsu destroys a natural guy who focuses on wrestling”

“Bo did this just to test his skills, Gordon wasn’t allowed to attack the legs or it would have ended quickly, but the tweaked rules make it less one sided and more fun to watch. Not what anyone cares lol” this fan had a close eye on the clash.

“That’s proves jujitsu is better than wrestling” Another point of conflict raised by this fan.

“Nickal thinks he’s God’s gift to MMA lol” the fan seemed amused by Nickal.

“Gordon Ryan changed so much over the years. It’s two different people before and after peds” the fan quoted.

While the other fan had this to express, “Anyone know what each guy weighed in at? Got to think Bo is giving up some pounds” 

The video exhibits clearly, how strongly it caught the focus of the fans as most of them didn’t agree with one another. Since both guys have increased their stature in their respective sports, it becomes a matter of utter intrigue where they will go from here.

Considering Nickal, he even grabbed attention in the past while getting featured with the former President of the United States, Donald Trump.
