Chael Sonnen often has interesting stories to share about MMA and its athletes. The former UFC middleweight title challenger is very active on his social media and his show, Bad Guy INC. Recently Sonnen, on his Twitter account, shared a story involving former UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez.

In the video, Chael Sonnen revealed that Eddie Alvarez once knocked out a gangster in Russia. Speaking about the incident, The American Gangster said, “One of these gangsters hit a woman. And, the rumor, So Eddie knocks the gangster out… I know that happened, but the rumor is they took Eddie somewhere and had him dig a hole. And then told him that if you ever did that again you go in the hole.”

Sonnen further added, “He thought he was going in the hole. I don’t know that. We all believe that to be true and I have never had the courage to ask him. That is a common belief for 20 years that Eddie was taken to a spot by the gangsters in Russia because somebody put hands on a woman. I know Eddie knocked the guy. That part is true. Because we are all at the party.”

After narrating the incident, Sonnen did not stop there. He further asked Alvarez about this incident. The former UFC lightweight champion had quite the reaction when asked about the same.

The American Gangster, while narrating the incident, mentioned that he never had the courage to ask Eddie Alvarez about the incident. However, Sonnen built the courage and went ahead by posing the question in front of The Underground King.
Sonnen recalled the incident in front of Alvarez. The American Gangster asked Alvarez if he had to dig a hole. Alvarez, with a smile on his face, said, “I heard the story before. I’m denying, I’m in complete denial.”
Alvarez’s reaction made Sonnen believe that there might be some truth to this story. The American Gangster said, “Yeah, his eyes just got weird now. Now I think it happened… Everyone believes that happened.”

Whether the incident happened or not, fans will remember Eddie Alvarez for putting up some tremendous fights in the UFC octagon. His victory against Justin Gaethje is still talked about.
