Conor McGregor is finally making his long-awaited comeback to the UFC. You read that right, Dana White has finally chimed in confirming from his end of things that ‘The Notorious’ will be back in the Octagon on June 29th at UFC 303.
The bout has been prolonged for what seems like ages at this point, with Michael Chandler getting increasingly frustrated with the way it kept getting pushed away. Nevertheless, after what seems like an eternity, a return date is final. The question is, is Conor McGregor fully healed from his injury? Here’s what Dana White said.

Conor McGregor fought Dustin Poirier back in 2021 and his shin broke live in front of millions of people. Since then, ‘Mystic Mac’ has been in recovery trying to heal the broken bone. Previously, fighters like Chris Weidman and Anderson Silva have also broken their shins.
Likewise, Conor McGregor got injured and now, in a similar way, he’s about to come back to the Octagon after years of healing. The last time he won a fight was against Donald Cerrone in 2020. Now, Dana White has put out a verdict on his injury.

“I think when you look at that injury, it’s happened in UFC,” Dana White said in the UFC 300 post-event press conference. “We just saw Chris Weidman come back, Anderson came back from it, you saw. You’ve seen it in football. It’s it’s probably one of the nastiest injuries that you could possibly get . . . it’s a nasty injury and it’s a rough recovery too. It’s a really rough recovery.”

Anderson Silva, of course, reigned as a champion for long and now, Chris Weidman has also been a force to be reckoned with. Instead, he has accumulated a lot of controversy out of his recent eye-poke victory over Bruno Silva in the third round of their fight. The bigger question is, will he really come back this time?
McGregor’s many previous announcements finally fall together
For the longest time, McGregor kept talking about a return but one by one all of his announcements were swatted away by Dana White quickly. However, in the long run, McGregor got what he wanted just fine. As soon as the new year, 2024 clocked in, Conor McGregor announced the 29th June Las Vegas return.

Dana White first told the press that he wasn’t in on the whole return loop. However, it now looks like White has finally confirmed it all. ‘The Notorious’ will return to Las Vegas for the main event of UFC 303. It was also announced that Poirier will be taking on lightweight champion Islam Makhachev at UFC 302 on the first of June.
