All Kevin Holland needs is a cage and an opponent. At least, that’s the image he’s painted of himself over the last couple of years. The welterweight championship is nowhere on the line for him, so his motivations remain the same. Belt or no belt, Holland came here to fight, and he’ll do it regardless.
The ‘Big Mouth’ has all hands on deck as he prepares to fight Jack Della Maddalena for Noche UFC. Holland was his usual loud self in the press meet leading up to the fight. Maddalena will be barreling into the fight with an impressive record of 15 wins and two losses against Holland, who’s won 25 and lost 9. Even though both of their stats are amazing, fans were more focused on Holland’s opinion of the belt.

Holland doesn’t care about the belt
The welterweight champion Leon Edwards recently fought off Kamaru Usman to defend the title that he won from him at UFC 278. This rematch went down in March of this year so it’s safe to say that we won’t be seeing much of Edwards for some time. So Kevin Holland was faced with one simple question: Since there is no belt, what are his eyes looking at?

“You know, doesn’t really bother me. I’m not really the guy looking for a belt.” Said Holland at the press conference. “I’m just looking to stay active. I’m just looking to fight anybody and everybody.”
It looked like the fighter took the reporter off-guard with his rapid responses but this doesn’t apply to the fans. They had answers to Holland’s quips, and none of them had blunt edges.
Fans have mixed reactions for Kevin Holland
Most fans seemed brutal and upfront in their approach to ‘TrailBlazer’s comments. They were not very pleased with his response in the press meet.
- ?Aka he knows he ain?t beating anybody in the top 10?
- ?Can?t be worried about things that aren?t attainable?
- ?Bro is not getting ppv pay?
- ?What he meant to say is, have you seen me against the best? I can?t be fighting for a belt. He?s fun against top 15 fighters, let?s keep it real though.?
- ?W reporter L Holland. It?s a legit question. The belt is the ultimate prize in the sport. That?s like a nfl player coming out and saying I?m not interested in competing for super bowls I just wanna play for a team and make money. Huh??? Goofy as hell?
Meanwhile, some others were more than okay with Holland’s views about the belt. For some, it is the money and not the message.
- ?Big money fights are happening and a lot of them don?t have to be title fights. Just give the fights the people want to see!!!!?
- ?Money motivates him ! He wants the paydays he don?t care about a belt?
- ?My man likes where he at. He making his money and don?t have to always fight a monster . He just keeping it real?

Social media isn’t exactly known for holding things back when it comes to grilling fighters. Holland might be grateful, though that some of his fans saw the point he was trying to make. They value the sport in terms of the entertainment it gives out, and belts don’t always take priority.

Some fans talked logic; others just wanted to show their love for the American ‘Trailblazer.’ There were even some who decided that the belt didn’t have much value to begin with. Regardless, the fight is coming, and it’s coming soon. Will Holland put his money where his mouth is? Noche UFC will reveal it all.
