In a video shared on Twitter, fans can see Gaethje attempting a takedown until Eddie Alvarez defends it and Gaethje falls back rolling. As ‘The Highlight’ stands up, he receives a kick from Alvarez. Many fans on Twitter reacted to this incident.

The fight between Eddie Alvarez and Justin Gaethje was everything fans expected it to be. Both the fighters who are known to hit hard and move forward put on a solid contest.

Early in the first round, ‘The Highlight’ seemed to have an upper hand, as he kept kicking the leg of Eddie Alvarez. While it felt that the fight was slipping from the hands of Alvarez, he started landing shots to the head and body of Gaethje.

In the second round, Gaethje remained stationary as Alvarez started to stick and move. “The Underground King” started pulling ahead, but Gaethje kept landing his kicks too.

The third round had action too, as both fighters moved forward. Justin Gaethje found a lot of success with his kicks, but eventually, Eddie Alvarez landed a knee which knocked Gaethje out. This handed ‘The Highlight’ the first defeat of his MMA career.
