Colby Covington thinks like a businessman, just as he does as a fighter. His call-outs and conflicts with various fighters across divisions prove that he is a problem child in the UFC

In a recent interview with ‘Yahoo! Sports’, Covington divulged his various desires to challenge fighters within his division and out of them. ‘Chaos’ also shared his thoughts about which fighter pushed him to his limits and what he felt about his previous fight with Kamaru Usman

The former interim UFC welterweight champion stated, “You know, not very often there’s a fighter that could push me to that limit. You know me and Usman, he was able to get me to that limit, and it brought out the best of me and brought out the best in him.”

“So you know, I’m looking to do round three… There’s unfinished business. He hasn’t proven he’s a better fighter, and he didn’t come out there and dominate me, you know?”

Colby Covington says his second fight with Kamaru Usman was close

‘Chaos’ earned a rematch against ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ that served as the main event of UFC 268 at Madison Square Garden.

He spoke about that fight, saying“It was a very close fight. You know, the judges gave him three rounds to two against me, but the people saw it as three rounds for me and two rounds for him. So you know, I think that fight can be run back. And you know, I’ll definitely get to that level if I fight him again.”

In his own words, Covington feels like that fight was really close, and he believes to have won it. This standpoint of his goes to show that he deserves a third fight to put to rest which fighter is genuinely better.

As he wants a rematch for the second time, Covington must ensure he keeps winning. He will have a chance to maintain his top spot in the rankings when he fights Jorge Masvidal at UFC 272. Even then, him running it back with Usman for the third time is entirely in the hands of the management. Only time will tell.
