Belal Muhammad was eagerly waiting for his turn to challenge the reigning welterweight champion, Leon Edwards, after Kamaru Usman. However, to his surprise, Dana White had different plans up his sleeve that left him in shock. The UFC president has firmly made up his mind and has locked in Colby Covington as the next fighter to get the title shot against ‘Rocky’. Despite the fact that many anticipated the Chicago native to get the title shot, it’s ‘Chaos’ all the way now for the championship. This decision didn’t go very well with the fight fans, too. But that’s what’s happening in the end.

Covington seems to have left an impression on the UFC president with his trash-talking skills and brash attitude. Wherein Muhammad, understandably disappointed, recently took a shot at White, stating that he needs to stop lying just to get Covington the big fight, regardless of what’s fair.

Belal Muhammad is still reeling from the disappointment of being denied a shot at Leon Edwards for the welterweight title. During his appearance at the UFC 287 backstage interview, the fighter was asked about whether he was asked to be the backup fighter for Edwards vs. Usman. To which Muhammad replied, “Literally I was asking for that role. I am walking around at 185. I could’ve made weight at Thursday, to go down there and make weight.”

Muhammad went on to express his displeasure with Dana White justifying his Colby Covington decision, stating,“Like Dana says that, ‘Oh man, he[Colby Covington] was the only one that was willing to do it.'” I’m like, don’t lie on the situation. I get [it] you wanted to put him in the title fight for his third time, obviously there’s reason for it. But don’t sit there and make up lies like, ‘Oh man, he deserves it, he’s earned it, he’s number 2’, and blah blah blah. He is 2-2 in his last 4 fights. He didn’t earn it, he didn’t deserve it. I’m the rightful owner of that spot.”
