The conversation started with Helwani asking O’Malley about his latest ’69’ tattoo. Sean O’Malley had recently paid homage to rapper 6ix9ine by getting a ’69’ tattoo on his right shoulder. Talking about the same, Helwani told ‘Sugar’ that he is not much of a 6ix9ine guy, but prefers Drake.

‘Sugar’ responded by claiming that although he did not peg Helwani to be a Drake guy, he himself is a fan of the Canadian rapper. He said, “I like Drake. He is the man.” Following that, Helwani went on to talk about how Drake had DM’d him after he quoted his song ‘Headlines’ during the Jake Paul fight.

‘Sugar’ seemed to be impressed by the same and talked about how he likes that song. O’Malley said, “Honestly, Headlines is my favorite that one’s an oldie, but it’s a banger. Love that one. ” Helwani then talked about how Drake thanked him for quoting him during the show.

Being a Drake and a music fan in general fan, O’Malley found this to be exceptional and quickly said, “That’s fu*king awesome.” Drake is a world-famous musician and has fans all over the world and clearly, UFC star Sean O’Malley and Ariel Helwani are two of them.

What next for Sean O’Malley?

O’Malley last competed in the UFC back in July 2021. The fighter had faced promotional newcomer Kris Moutinho at the UFC 264 event. And although Moutinho showed great heart throughout the fight, O’Malley won the fight via a 3rd round TKO.

Although the fighter did reveal that he will be looking to compete on the undercard of the UFC 269 event. That event is expected to be headlined by the title fight between Dustin Poirier and Charles Oliveira and hence will be one of the biggest UFC events of the year. Therefore, competing in such a big event will surely be beneficial for ‘Sugar’.
