Chael Sonnen claims Oliveira is scared to fight Islam Makhachev

Chael Sonnen in the video, claims that Arman Tsarukyan vs Charles Oliveira won’t take place. He questions why Oliveira would want to take a fight to go up against Islam Makhachev, stating, “How does Charles find motivation and number one contenders matches when it draws him to the only thing he doesn’t want?”

Sonnen goes on to claim that Oliveira is the second-best fighter in the division, stating, “I don’t pick on him at all. He’s proven he’s great. He’s the second-best fighter in the division. He is proven he’s the second-best fighter in the division. That’s pretty damn impressive.”

However, despite saying that, Sonnen goes on to give his reasons for Oliveira not wanting to fight Islam Makhachev, even going as far as to claim, that he avoided the Makhachev fight. He states, “he doesn’t want to fight Islam to the degree that he has refused to fight Islam… His coach came out and told the world that he was offered Islam and he said no, that was the very first Volkanovski fight.”

However, despite Sonnen’s claims, Charles Oliveira is set to fight Tsarukyan, and if all goes well, the winner will eventually fight the Champion of the lightweight division. But what are the betting odds for the two fighters?
