Thomson recently had another extended conversation with the veteran UFC referee, John McCarthy, on their YouTube channel. The conversation began when McCarthy highlighted the potential reason for ‘The Korean Zombie’ retirement. After the 60-year-old had finished his statement, Thomson began to shed light on what hindered Jung’s momentum while he was an MMA fighter.

He said, “I really feel like he is three years away or three and a half years away for military deployment or whatever it was that he was doing for his country. That really sent him back because there were stages in there where he was physically bigger, stronger, hit harder than a lot of those fighters at the time in that era.”
