Former UFC light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones got inducted to the UFC Hall Of Fame last week for his 2013 fight against Alexander Gustafsson. However, Jones was at the center of some major controversy on the same night. Following that, PFL fighter Claressa Shields has come out in Jones’s support.

Shields, a teammate of Jones, has been training with ‘Bones’ at the Jackson-Wink MMA for quite a while now. Judging by her first fight, training with one of the greatest fighters of all time had certainly helped her grow.

I know that Jon’s a great guy. I don’t know what happened when he was in Vegas. People make stuff up on him,” said Shields.

“I kinda hope people support and pray for him instead of being so judgmental or whatever. Jon’s a great guy, he loves his wife, he loves his family. He’s all round nice guy, and he is a hard worker. So, I don’t know what happened in Vegas..,” she added.

Shields will return to action next month for her next fight on October 27th. She has also revealed that she is looking to enter the PFL cage once more this year, preferably in December.

However, if the recent incidents involving him change those dates by any means, remains to be seen. But he has his teammate Shields backing him up all the way.
