In his fight against Max Holloway at UFC 231, Ortega kept coming forward, despite taking an unending barrage of punches. However, he lost the bout via doctor’s stoppage in the fourth round. Then, ‘T-City’ went back to the drawing board and made a huge comeback against Chan Sung Jung at UFC Fight Night: Ortega vs. The Korean Zombie.

Ortega appeared to be in the best form of his career in his fight against ‘The Korean Zombie,’ claiming a unanimous decision victory. When sharing his pick for Volkanovski vs. Ortega, Giga Chikadze shared the same opinion on ‘T-City.’ However, his final verdict said otherwise.

In a recent interview with ‘Submission Radio,’ Chikadze said – “That’s a good fight, really interesting. Look like Brian did big change after his [loss against Max Holloway]. And we could clearly see in ‘The Korean Zombie’ fight that he grow up, and he is a much better fighter.”

“But somehow, something tells me that Alex can win the fight. I believe [Alexander Volkanovski] is more unbreakable guy.”

He suffered his first and only professional loss back in 2013, which was a TKO loss against Corey Nelson. Ever since then, Volkanovski has never been seen falling short in his fights. Moreover, besides Dustin Poirier, Volkanovski is the only UFC fighter to defeat Max Holloway twice.

He defeated Holloway at UFC 245 to win the UFC featherweight title. ‘The Great’ then successfully defended his title in a rematch at UFC 251. He also holds notable victories over the likes of Chad Mendes and Jose Aldo, to name a few.

Volkanovski is a force to be reckoned with in the 145 lbs division. It will not come as a surprise if he defeats Ortega at UFC 266 to remain the champion. However, ‘T-City’ will not be a walk in the park. Regardless, this will be one of the most exciting UFC featherweight title fights in history.
