Francis Ngannou became the UFC Heavyweight Champion at UFC 260 after a stunning performance against the consensus greatest heavyweight of all-time Stipe Miocic.
‘The Predator’ knocked out Miocic in the 2nd round of the contest to set the score level between them. Ngannou had a very special supporter in the form of Miesha Tate heading into the contest.
The former women’s bantamweight champion happens to be a close friend of Ngannou. She showed her support for the Cameroonian fighter ahead of UFC 260 in an Instagram post.

“Francis has been my friend since he came to Las Vegas some years ago now. I remember when he struggled to speak any English and I helped him set up his first LLC,” Tate wrote on his post.
“He has always been the kindest, most humble human being. I had no idea his hardships at that time, I had no idea he had to endure so much just to get to America but it’s these stories that move me.
“He is the example that anything is possible and I believe he will accomplish another dream this weekend of becoming a world champion!” she further added.
With his triumph at UFC 260, Ngannou became the 3rd African champion in the UFC roster after welterweight champion Kamaru Usman and middleweight champion Israel Adesanya.

Ngannou is a fan favorite not only because of his explosive fighting style and unmatched knockout prowess, but his humility and kindness for a man of his stature and size is also something very much appreciated by everybody. Tate was on point to single out that fact.
