Ferguson, in an Instagram post, shared a video of the exact moment he got poked in the eye. He mentioned that Bobby Green knew exactly what he resorted to using those tactics. ‘El Cucuy’ said, “Bobby knew the direction of the fight & I believe he knew what he was doing when he poked my eye.”

Tony Ferguson also stated that he knows Bobby Green has tried these kinds of stunts before in fights. Moreover, that eye poke at UFC 291 severely affected his vision. He added, “He has a big History of moves like this. It significantly impaired my vision, making it difficult to see clearly out of my eye.” However, he decided to ignore his predicament and continue fighting, even after the cage-side doctor warned him to stop. “Despite this eye poke I never considered stopping the fight. Although the doc wanted too,” said Tony Ferguson. However, despite his losing streak, he plans to continue fighting.

‘El Cucuy’ will discuss his UFC future with Dana White

Tony Ferguson mentioned that winning and losing is part of an athlete’s life. Besides, he does not want to use getting poked in the eye as an excuse for the loss at UFC 291. But he still wants to continue his fighting career. Ferguson said, “Unfortunately in sports, setbacks like this are part of the journey. While I won’t use the eye poke as an excuse for the outcome, I know for a fact I have more to give.”

When it comes to his future in the UFC, Ferguson said that he plans to sit down and discuss things with President Dana White, along with his team. He further added, “Moving forward, I plan to work closely with Dana, Hunter & my entire team to assess what’s next.”
