‘He Likes to Use People’- Colby Covington Dubs Jorge Masvidal as a Bum for Back Stabbing People

When personal emotions get involved in grudge matches, it often leads to a memorable war. It seems like the promotion has booked yet another groundbreaking match-up for UFC 272 that will pit former teammates, Colby ‘Chaos’ Covington against Jorge ‘Gamebred’ Masvidal.

In a recent interview, the 33-year-old fighter was quizzed about his relationship with his long-time friend and rival, Jorge Masvidal.

“Nah, we cut off communication a long time ago, you know? When he started to get jealous and envious of my rise and success up to the top, you know? He wanted to backstab me like the bum he is, you know? Like he does to everybody, he likes to use people for anything they can do to help him.”

“But as soon as someone started to do a little better than him, he backstabs them… puts in a knife in the back, you know? I haven’t talked to him, and I won’t talk to him until I finish him on March 5th.”

Colby Covington will look to cement his rise as a PPV star

Covington’s unprecedented rise in the UFC came at the backs of his post-fight interview after beating Brazilian grappler, Demian Maia, at UFC Fight Night 119.

The surging welterweight fighter took on a brand new persona to help keep things interesting and secure his spot within the promotion. This massive heel turn has made him one of the most sought out fighters and a must-see PPV star of the modern era.

UFC 272 will be Covington’s third PPV main event. While he will look to settle the score with Masvidal, he will know that a win over a popular name will help him retain his ranking, get even more buzz around his name, and cement himself as a PPV star.
