Even while he has been away from the UFC octagon for more than a year, Colby Covington surely knows how to pack a punch in his words. Various reports and rumors suggest that Covington is going to face welterweight champ Leon Edwards at the UFC 295 in November. But this time, ‘Chaos’ had aimed his verbal bow elsewhere, with a familiar foe caught in the crosshairs.

Recently, Covington sent a personalized video message to none other than Chael Sonnen. In the message, he gave an update about his future fight and his absence from UFC. Known for his outspoken nature, ‘Chaos’ did not shy away from taking shots at several UFC fighters, one of which was Dustin Poirier.

Colby Covington goes off on Dustin Poirier

In a bold and unapologetic declaration, Colby Covington made it clear that he has never shied away from a fight. Taking aim at Dustin Poirier, Covington did not mince words, accusing Poirier of being afraid to face him.

“From my side, I have been ready since day one. I accepted every fight that’s been offered my way. First, it was Dustin, they wanted to make that fight”, the UFC welterweight said.

Recalling the time when a potential fight with Dustin Poirier was on the table, Covington emphasized how the UFC saw the immense potential and magnitude of such a showdown. However, according to ‘Chaos’, Poirier was quick to back away from the challenge.

‘Chaos’ aimed at Khamzat Chimaev as well!

In a scorching assessment of Chimaev’s character, Covington labeled him as scared and unprofessional. “Then it was Chimaev. Then I was ready to end the hype with Chimaev. But he is scared, he is unprofessional, and he is a little dork. He talks all this big game online. But he don’t talk inside the octagon. He doesn’t sign contracts and be a professional.”
