Demetrious Johnson has taken over the world of combat sports with his phenomenal performance against Adriano Moraes. Without a doubt, the fighter’s skills in showmanship have gone a couple of notches higher than before. The development seemingly caught the eye of Israel Adesanya

4 years ago, in an episode of ‘Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson’, Henry Cejudo recalled the past and disclosed how weak Johnson’s showmanship was. Even though Cejudo praised ‘Mighty Mouse’ for being an amazing fighter, he couldn’t bring himself to say the same about his showmanship. Then, he went on to praise Conor McGregor for uplifting the UFC and garnering fame with his showmanship. Subsequently, Tyson also chimed in with his opinion on how important it is to sell the shows.

Cejudo said, “You know, Demetrious Johnson was such a dominant fighter. But, he really wasn’t much of a showman like the UFC wanted.” Further, he went ahead and praised ‘The Notorious’ for advertising the fight promotion in a way no one ever did. “Whether you like him or not, he’s putting us on the map”, he said.

Soon after, Tyson joined Cejudo and claimed that there are many such fighters who are now good showmen. He said, “No one wants to see them, you know. They’re not colorful enough.”

Israel Adesanya lifts up Johnson

Following the conclusion of ONE Fight Night 10, the UFC middleweight champion recently commended Johnson for taking control of the stage. The way he closed the show apparently impressed Adesanya. After being declared as the victor, he faced off against Kairat Akhmetov inside the cage and sent the crowd into a frenzy. ‘The Last Stylebender’ took to Twitter and shared nothing but words of praise for the flyweight champion.
