Andrew Tate has oftentimes found himself taking heat for his comments. This time around, the kickboxing practitioner has arguably disregarded the usefulness of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) outside the mat. The author of ‘The Gift of Violence: Practical Knowledge for Surviving and Thriving in a Dangerous World’, Matt Thornton, recently shared a tweet wherein he dissed Tate for claiming that Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is useless in a street fight.

Soon after Thornton posted the tweet, Conor McGregor’s coach, John Kavanagh, took to the comments section and joined the author’s stand against Tate. Kavanagh didn’t mince any words and had a lot to say about Tate.

John Kavanagh disses Andrew Tate for offending the art of BJJ

Thornton recently shared a link to a video where Tate was talking about the art of BJJ. In the video, Tate claimed that one cannot use BJJ outside the arena or dojo. He seemed to use real-life situations to show how useless the sport was. He said, “BJJ is absolutely useless outside the cage or a dojo. It’s useless on the street. You can’t do a double-leg takedown on concrete. You’re gonna f**k yourself up. Even if you do take him down to the ground, many submissions don’t work if he can bite, or if he can scratch your eyes, or if he can pull a knife. Thirdly, you don’t know if he has friends.”

Matt Thornton was not amused. He responded to Tate’s words by saying that someone should gift his book to Tate. He claimed that the book could help Tate understand every “street vs sport” fallacy.
