Alex Morono submitted Tim Means in their bout at UFC Charlotte. Means and Morono opened the main card for UFC Charlotte with a welterweight slugfest. Two minutes in the second round, Morono locked in a guillotine on Means and forced the tap. The 39-year-old veteran Means was on a two-fight losing skid and sought to prevent a hat-trick of losses. With a 14-11 UFC record, ‘The Dirty Bird’ was 3-2 in his last 5. His losses were against Max Griffin and Kevin Holland.

32-year-old Alex Morono was on a much better run in comparison. ‘The Great White’ had lost his last bout against Santiago Ponzinibbio. However, he was on a 4-fight win streak prior to the loss. Morono came to UFC Charlotte with an 11-5 UFC record.

Means and Morono kicked off the UFC Charlotte main card on a strong foot. The 39-year-old veteran showed no signs of his age as he took the fight to Morono. Nevertheless, Morono found success of his own, landing stiff shots. Means finished the first round strong, teeing off on Morono against the cage.

Things turned around in the second round. Morono took back control on the feet and got back up after being taken down. He caught Means in a guillotine shortly after and forced a tap.

With the win, Morono is back in the win column. During the post-fight interview, Morono called out Bryan Barberena for his next fight.
