Rob Font returned to winning ways with a first-round knockout win over Adrain Yanez at UFC 287.  Font fought Yanez on the main card of UFC 287 in Miami. The #6 and #12 ranked bantamweights put on a show, for as long as the fight lasted, in front of a sold-out crowd in the Miami-Dade Arena.

Dubbed ‘mini Masvidal’ by some, Adrian Yanez has a 16-3 professional MMA record. The 29-year-old came into the Miami-Dade Center on a 9-fight win streak. The Texas-based athlete also amassed a perfect 5-0 record in the UFC prior to facing the veteran Font at UFC 287.

#6 ranked bantamweight Rob Font came into UFC 287 on a two-fight skid. 9-5 in the UFC, he lost his previous two bouts to Marlon Vera and the legendary Jose Aldo.

While Yanez was looking to improve his streak to 10-0 and climb up the rankings, Font had the opportunity to get back in the win column and retain the #6 spot.

The UFC 287 bantamweight bout between Font and Yanez at UFC 287 was an important one for the bantamweight division. With the title on the line at UFC 288 in May, this fight could help either fighter advance closer to the top 5.

The fight started off slowly, but that did not last long. Both fighters started landing calculated shots. Yanez was landing shots and leaving marks on Font’s face. However, the New England Cartel representative’s crisp boxing eventually paid off as he teed off on Yanez, landing stiff jabs and winning the exchanges in the pocket.
