Thiago Santos managed to earn a decision win over Johnny Walker in the main event of UFC Fight Night: Santos vs Walker. ‘Marreta’ ended his 3-fight skid in the process. He is now eyeing up a fight against Jiri Prochazka next and has issued a chilling warning to ‘Denisa’.

Prochazka has had a meteoric rise to stardom in his short stint in the UFC. A knockout win over Volkan Oezdemir caught every fan’s attention. A highlight-reel finish of former title challenger Dominick Reyes further elevated his popularity. Prochazka is currently looking to secure a title shot for himself and will serve as the backup at the UFC 267 title clash between Jan Blachowicz and Glover Teixeira.

If Jiri Prochazka doesn’t want to wait around for the title shot, I’m here. I’m here to face him. All respect to him, but I watched his fights. He thinks his chin is stone, but that’s because he hasn’t fought against the hammer. If he wants to test his chin, I’m here,” said Santos in his post-fight interview.

Thiago Santos vs Jiri Prochazka next?

Prochazka has shown he is a different breed of a fighter than the rest of the light-heavyweight division. However, he has a tendency to take shots from his opponents. Which might be a recipe for disaster against someone like Santos. Then again, he has a granite chin to support his reckless abundance style.

Stylistically, a fight between Prochazka and Santos sounds exciting. And with ‘Denisa’ involved, one can guarantee it won’t be a snoozefest like Santos’s last two fights. Santos has been very gun shy lately. So, whether he has done enough to get a fight against Prochazka, remains to be seen.
