Ever since Jon Jones announced his move to the heavyweight division, he hasn’t entered the UFC octagon. However, fans have witnessed him prepping for his heavyweight debut through his social media account.

Previously, the former light heavyweight champion moved to Arizona to hone his skills with one of the best UFC fighters. Did you guess it? Well, the former two-division champion Henry Cejudo has been training a few UFC fighters for their bout. Recently, he also posted a video of him training with ‘Bones’ on his official Instagram account.
‘The Messenger’ in an episode of ‘The Triple C and Schmo Show’ revealed the reasons Jones wanted to train with him. He also lauded the former light heavyweight champion during the talks.

Cejudo said, “There is no greater combination than having the greatest combat athlete of all time and the greatest mixed martial artist of all time. Actually, once that whole thing happened with Jones, he reached out to me.”

“It’s a mutual respect. He hit me up on Instagram. We started talking a little bit. You know, he wanted to get my perspective on this. So he came out to Arizona for the last three days and we worked on everything which you call MMA.”

Henry Cejudo to Return to UFC Next Year
After a six-fight undefeated streak and two UFC titles under his belt, ‘The Messenger’, retired from the promotion in 2020. However, he has always expressed his interest in making a comeback to the UFC octagon.
Interestingly, it seems like the right time for the former champion to make a comeback. Ever since the featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski made his successful title defense at UFC 266, Cejudo has been calling him out for a fight.

‘The Messenger’ desires to add one more feather to his hat by defeating Volkanovski. Recently, in an interview Cejudo’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz confirmed he will make a return in 2022. “Yes, I do (think Cejudo fights again in 2022). 100-percent I do. I think he does, “ Abdelaziz said.

Cejudo’s manager wasn’t sure which division ‘The Messenger’ will opt for in his comeback. But, he is likely to eye for the featherweight gold. However, there hasn’t been any official announcement from the UFC.
