Welterweight sensation Khamzat Chimaev is a nightmare for his opponents inside the octagon. The Swede has racked up an immaculate professional MMA career and has enough power to defeat ranked UFC prospects. However, outside the ring, ‘Borz’ is actually a fun guy, especially with his friends.

Recently, in a video documenting ‘Borz’s training at his gym, AllStars Training Center, Chimaev was seen mocking one of his friends on the pretext of acting like Conor McGregor.

When broached about why he called his friend, Conor McGregor, Chimaev replied hilariously and advised him to become Khamzat Chimaev instead, “You are trying to be like him. He loses like McGregor does. He acts like McGregor, I don’t know why. I told him, you should try to be like Khamzat Chimaev instead. I’m better, undefeated, undisputed champion. All weights brother. Man, McGregor is a chicken.”

“He wants to be like chicken McGregor,” Chimaev continued.

Currently, Chimaev is #11 on the UFC’s welterweight charts after defeating ranked fighter Li Jingliang at UFC 267: Blachowicz vs. Teixeira last year. And it looks like he has found his next assignment against former title challenger Gilbert Burns.

Khamzat Chimaev and Gilbert Burns verbally agree to fight

Swedish Wrestler Khamzat Chimaev is making strides in the MMA world with his out-of-the-world performances in the UFC octagon. Every fight involving ‘Borz’ has been a show stopper which has added to his hype.

However, the only hurdle to a faster way to the top was the lack of a highly ranked opponent. But it seems like Chimaev has found a way around that hurdle and is set to jump over several welterweights and directly take on former title challenger and welterweight #2 Gilbert Burns.

Recently, Chimaev messaged ‘Durinho’ in a personal capacity and got a nod from the elite welterweight to set up a fight in April. The Brazilian was quick to accept Chimaev as he himself was unable to find worthy opponents for himself.

“We’ve been negotiating, we’re looking at an April slot, we’re just trying to establish an opponent. It could be Chimaev. He’s one of the few guys who has accepted and we are still negotiating. We’ll see. It could be him next,” Burns confirmed.
