It’s not every day that you wake up to the news that two of the biggest names in tech – two of the world’s most influential people are going to fight each other in a UFC Octagon. When Tesla owner and X CEO Elon Musk called out Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, people were hyped. They knew they were going to witness a once-in-a-lifetime fight that would be bigger than anything before.

However, the fight fell through recently, despite some of the biggest names in UFC and combat sports being involved. The news suggests that Zuckerberg was the one to call off the fight, but according to him, he had his reasons. Apparently, Musk was not serious enough about the fight, and the Meta CEO saw it best not to waste his own time any further. However, he did train hard for the fight, and a notable BJJ fighter has flattering things to say about Zuckerberg and his abilities.

‘Tough Guy’ Mark Zuckerberg – Meta CEO Impresses ONE FC BJJ fighter

Mark Zuckerberg had been taking the fight quite seriously. He had been putting in the work and training hard. In fact, a post-sparring picture of UFC MW champ Israel Adesanya, UFC Featherweight champ Alexander Volkanovski and Mark Zuckerberg went viral. Now, it seems another name has been added to the list of ‘who’s whos’ that have trained Zuckerberg. ONE FC fighter and decorated BJJ champion Mikey Musumeci recently proclaimed that he had trained with Zuckerberg and found him to be a ‘tough’ individual.

So, uh… the first time I trained with Mark, I expected… honestly, I expected him to be, obviously, super-intelligent. But, then when I saw him train, I saw that he was like this animal on the mat. He’s tough as f**k.“, said Musumeci in a YouTube video of an interview with TMZSports. The professional fighter seemed impressed with Zuckerberg’s zeal and endurance. “Like he doesn’t – like he was… first he trained with me then he trained with this other guy and the guy like – like fell on him. And he fell really hard and then someone’s like ‘Yo! You okay?’ He’s like ‘I’m fine’. Like he just wanted to keep pushing. So he goes hard in training. You know what I mean?“, he added.

The interviewer then asked him if Zuckerberg’s skill set and abilities surprised him, to which the ONE FC fighter replied saying, “Like he’s like… he’s not a… he’s not – he’s not like a pretty boy or anything like that at all. Like, he goes hard, you know?“. The fact of the matter is that Mark Zuckerberg has a background in combat, having prior experience in wrestling and BJJ. Now, it seems he is good enough to impress the professionals as well.

The two fighters were seen training with some of the biggest names in the game. Elon Musk was seen training with Georges St-Pierre. Apparently, Musk had asked for a pre-fight exhibition fight in Zuckerberg’s backyard. Zuckerberg had said that he had plans to travel. However, there was a lot of back and forth, and when Zuckerberg got the impression that Musk wasn’t serious about going through with the fight, he pulled out. UFC President Dana White, who has been associating closely with Zuckerberg recently, also corroborated the story and called Musk ‘hilarious.’ According to White, Zuckerberg is quite serious about the fight, but he wants it to be under a promotion, not in a backyard.
