UFC female strawweight fighter Tatiana Suarez revealed her unusually funny relationship with the rising UFC welterweight prospect Khamzat Chimaev in a recent interview with Helen Yee.

Khamzat Chimaev is one of the most vicious welterweight fighters inside the UFC cage. However, the Russian-born Swedish mixed martial artist has a very funny and charismatic persona outside the cage.

‘Borz’ likes often hangs out with his opponents after the fight. The 27-year-old also has a YouTube channel where he frequently shares his funny bits with his close friend and middleweight fighter Darren Till.

Meanwhile, Suarez is a product of the Dana White Contender Series, who hails an undefeated record of 9-0 under her name. She met Chimaev at the UFC Performance Institute and got along well with him.

The American female fighter talked highly about the Russian-born and also shared a funny interaction with him. In the interview, Suarez said, Whenever he sees me at the PI, he just comes and kicks me with like shins on shins.”

“I’m like, ‘What are you doing? We don’t even have shin pads on.’ I’m like, whatever it’s okay……. The other day, he was trying to wrestle me in the sauna. I’m like, dude what’s happening, ‘Let’s not do this right here,” Suarez added. 

Khamzat Chimaev: Journey in UFC

Khamzat Chimaev made his UFC debut with an undefeated professional record of 6-0 under his name in 2020. He won his debut fight via a knockout in the second round. Later, he won two more fights via a first-round finish in the same year.

It was only his fourth fight at UFC 267 in 2021 in Abu Dhabi that made him the talk of the town. He finished his opponent in the very first round with a dominant performance. This win made him an overnight sensation and fans wanted to see more of the Russian-born mauler. Moreover, ‘Borz’ also entered the top-15 of the division with this win.

However, it wasn’t easy for the promotion to find a viable opponent. But after many names and speculations, Chimaev will finally return to the octagon against the number two welterweight contender Gilbert Burns.

This intriguing welterweight clash will take place on the main card of UFC 273 on 9th April 2022. It will be a delightful treat for the fans as both the welterweight combatants are some of the best wrestlers in the division.
