Justin Gaethje defeated Dustin Poirier at UFC 292 to become the UFC’s second BMF champion. Following his win, Conor McGregor shared a tweet claiming that he wants to take him on for the BMF title. Now, Gaethje has revealed his thoughts about that fight and also mentioned that he wants to put an end to the Irishman.

‘The Highlight’ recently made an appearance in Sydney for a ‘Q&A’ session. A fan asked him about his thoughts about Conor McGregor wanting to fight him. He replied by claiming he does want to fight the Irishman. Moreover, he also wants to end his career for good. Gaethje said, “I’d be lying if I didn’t say I dreamt of ending his career and making sure he’d never be able to step back in there.”

Furthermore, Gaethje mentioned how McGregor is choosing to fight Michael Chandler, whom he has already beaten. With this in mind, he claimed that the former double champion wanted nothing to do with him. “Chandler will now be the second guy that I beat that he chose to fight, and I think that speaks for itself. He won’t fight me, plain and simple,” said the BMF champion. Moreover, he’s even willing to put the title on the line.

Gaethje will put the BMF title up for grabs against ‘The Notorious’

‘The Highlight’, when asked whom he’d like to face for the BMF title next, mentioned Conor McGregor’s name. He is willing to accept the challenge that the Irishman put in front of him just moments after he won the fight at UFC 292. He said, “Probably McGregor [on putting the BMF title on the line].”

He also maintained his stance on wanting to end McGregor’s career. Moreover, this is one objective that he has at the top of the list of plans for the future. “Like I said, a chance to take him out for good is at the top of my list,” said Gaethje.

It remains to be seen how UFC president Dana White will react to this suggestion.
