In a recent development of events, Ryan Garcia has been in the thick of actions for a failed drug test. Garcia defeated super lightweight Devin Haney on April 20 and seemed unbeatable that night. However, his swansong was very short-lived as he tested positive for the banned substance named Ostarine. Garcia was tested two times, one before the fight and the second right after it. Unfortunately, the 25-year-old tested positive on both occasions, which has drawn extreme reactions from analysts and athletes.
Just like Conor McGregor, Sean O’Malley also seems against Garcia as he predicted harsh punishments for the boxer if he failed to prove his innocence.

Ryan Garcia’s most lucrative win in his career is on the verge of being declared a no-contest. The 25-year-old has tested positive for a banned substance (Ostarine) twice and it seems he might face some serious consequences. While speaking on Bradley Martyn’s Raw Talk, Sean O’Malley made some serious claims as he revealed, “Yeah, I feel like we’ll, probably. I mean, there’s got to be like some kind of a hearing or some kind of thing with the athletic commission to where the truth will be revealed. Probably it’s a timing thing.”
He further added, “I’m sure they’re probably trying to investigate it and trying to figure out it. That would s**k for that idiot because then he would lose all that money. He’s got to if he tested positive for straight up steroids I’m sure they’re gonna you know take away the money.”

Garcia and O’Malley have been involved in a lot of social media brawls recently. ‘King Ryan’ in one of his recent interviews made it clear that he would beat O’Malley in a MMA fight. This statement has not quite gone well with the champion, but he has yet to declare Garcia guilty.
Meanwhile, there finally seems to be some good news for Ryan Garcia as a fresh test report has offered him some relief and he might now be one step closer to proving his innocence.

A closer analysis of the 25-year-old boxer’s drug test sample has brought a bit of relief for the Garcia camp. ‘King Ryan’ has been cleared of using another suspected substance 19-Norandrosterone. Ariel Helwani recently took to his X account to give an update about the situation. He tweeted, “This is a big, promising development for Garcia. If a second substance was found, esp an anabolic steroid, it would have been much harder to prove his innocence.” Helwani shared the report of boxing analyst Dan Rafael stating that the 25-year-old had no traces of nandrolone in his report.

The boxer, however, will still have to answer for the trace amount of Ostarine found in his report as it is still considered a performance-enhancing drug. Garcia is currently on a dream run and a roadblock like this can affect the young boxer’s career. Further scrutiny of Garcia’s B sample is expected to be carried out soon. The entire process will be conducted in front of a representative to make sure that it’s legitimate.
