As the conversation unfolded, the interviewer recalled an anecdote, stating, “I remember even Jamie Foxx was saying, how like, you know because he was basically- it was a fundraiser for Harry Belafonte at JB’s house. And he was saying, how Harry had the chance to really ascend in Hollywood. But he cared so much about black people that he wouldn’t take certain roles.”

In response, the Hollywood star and MMA artist reflected on this revelation and shared further insights. Jai White revealed, “He was offered roles that Sidney Poitier ended-up taking. Even ‘Lilies of the Field’, Sidney Poitier got the Academy Award for. Harry was deeply political at that time. Somebody I really admire and look up to.”
