The bantamweight gold will be on the line as Sean O’Malley defends his title against Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 306 as they headline the Sphere event. This will be O’Malley’s second title defense after he dominated Marlon Vera at UFC 299 to successfully defend his title but will he be able to defend it once again against Dvalishvili? Henry Cejudo thinks otherwise. The former flyweight and bantamweight belt holder believes that ‘Suga’ is having problems inside his camp.

Sean O’Malley has asserted that he would finish Merab Dvalishvili pretty quickly, however, this might be a bit difficult considering the fact that the Georgian is a wrestling-heavy fighter and we have witnessed that when a wrestler and a striker fights most of the time the victory of the wrestler but ‘Suga’ might turn things around in his favor but Cejudo believes he would fail.

Henry Cejudo drops some heavy predictions for Sean O’Malley and Merab Dvalishvili

Quite something interesting happened in the latest edition of the Pound4Pound podcast. Sean O’Malley was supposed to have a conversation with Kamaru Usman and Henry Cejudo on the podcast as soon as the bantamweight champion went live, he made a quick joke and suddenly left. So What did he say? Well, he made fun of Henry Cejudo while praising Kamaru Usman, “I came here for two reasons. One, to praise you Kamaru, you’re an absolute legend. And two, Henry, how did you let [Aljamain Sterling] take you down so easy? Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, you’re welcome.”

He further added, “I’ve had training partners, I have three training partners that have gone out there that all told me that. That being said, dude, I think it’s a match made in heaven for a guy like Merab. He just needs to be careful in those two rounds, and as the fight goes on, I can see Merab really taking him out. That’s a lot said there, but as far as going. I do believe he’s going to lose to Merab.” Cejudo further claims that he has been having conversations with people inside O’Malley’s camp and they believe that the champion is having a bit of trouble getting by.

That’s not all as ‘Triple C’ even claimed that after the loss, O’Malley would have to fight him, “I’m planning on going to flyweight unless the fight between me and Sean O’Smelly, Ronald McDonald makes a lot of sense. I think we can do it here in Phoenix.” Cejudo was pretty pissed off by the way O’Malley just came to their podcast to call him out and his words might be a retaliation for the dishonor. However, how much of the truth is in Cejudo’s statement? Let us find out.

Merab Dvalishvili might be a bit of a problem for ‘Suga’

Merab Dvalishvili is one of the best wrestlers in the game currently. His dominant caucasian wrestling has been such a dominant force inside the Octagon that he is currently riding a 10-fight-winning streak under the UFC banner. His last fight against Henry Cejudo was one of his best performances as he not only defeated the former dual-weight champion but he toyed with him. This performance was a statement for Sean O’Malley.

However, it is not only his wrestling that can give a hard time to O’Malley but it is his cardio. There’s a reason why Dvalishvili is nicknamed ‘The Machine’ and because of his gas tank. The Georgian fighter can go a full five rounds without getting tired. His cardio should be feared alongside his wrestling skills. Well, his gas tank was so huge that even Joe Rogan couldn’t help but praise him.

The pace of Merab Dvalishvili is something to behold; it is a weapon. His drive and will to win are second to none. This guy is a real problem to anybody because he doesn’t get tired,” said Rogan. Regardless, we are just days away from witnessing the clash. Who are you rooting for?
