

After Christmas, it’s the New Year and we all know how hard people celebrate on this occasion. UFC fighters are no exception and after another year of uber-exciting fights, these stars also celebrated New Year’s Eve with their WAGs – wives and girlfriends, a term popularized by Ian Garry’s wife Layla Anna-Lee. In this article, we’ll take a look at these fighters and their respective partners, and how the couples decided to celebrate the start of a brand new year.
From top stars to veterans, many UFC fighters shared moments from their recent New Year’s Eve celebrations, and the list includes some of the most popular names on the roster. So, without any further ado, check them out!

Jose Aldo, Michael Chandler, and more celebrate the new year with their families and friends
For most fighters, a day as auspicious as New Year’s Eve only feels complete when they have their family with them. That’s been the case for former 2-time featherweight champion, Jose Aldo. ‘Junior’ and his wife of almost two decades, Viviane Pereira Oliveira, shared a message with a photo of them posing with their children on Instagram, and a prayer for everybody’s well-being in 2025. “May 2025 bring you good health and prosperity!! HAPPY NEW YEAR”, Aldo’s wife wrote on Instagram.
Similarly, lightweight star Michael Chandler, who put on one of the most entertaining performances at UFC 309, also had his New Year’s celebration in his house. His wife, Brie Chandler, shared a story on Instagram, and by the looks of it, they appeared to have had their friends and their children enjoying the end of the year together.

Even his UFC 309 opponent, Charles Oliveira, celebrated the new year with his friends, which was apparent on social media. Meanwhile, the theme for the party was the same for Dustin Poirier, as his wife, Jolie Poirier, shared a post with a picture on social media of their celebrations with friends as well.
However, nobody did it bigger with their family than the featherweight champion, Ilia Topuria. ‘El Matador’ shared numerous stories on Instagram with his large extended family, along with his girlfriend Giorgina Uzcategui, wishing a happy new year to their fans and followers on Instagram. After a successful 2024, no doubt Topuria had a big celebration in mind.

Other UFC fighters and their Christmas celebrations
Amanda Nunes left the sport on top with many fans wanting more. UFC newcomer, Kayla Harrison, has put herself in line for the former double champion should she choose to come out of retirement. While we can’t be sure if she will decide to come back after wrapping up an illustrious career, the looks of her recent post regarding her New Year’s celebration indicate that she’s living a pretty good life, along with her wife, Nina Nunes.

Meanwhile, former bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley‘s wife Danya Gonzalez, shared a post to bid farewell to 2024 but didn’t give us too much insight into their celebrations. Last, but not least, former double champion Henry Cejudo also gave us a look into his celebrations as his wife posted an Instagram story of ‘Triple C’ lighting up some crackers as we entered 2025.
