Earlier this year, rumors swirled that the former two-division UFC champion was in talks for a massive $500 million showdown with Logan Paul. All this news sparked excitement about a potential blockbuster fight. However, at the end of the day, it turned out to be nothing but news. Despite the tension, Conor McGregor was spotted getting along with WWE star Logan Paul and his brother, Jake Paul. The Paul brothers had been calling out ‘The Notorious’ for years to get into a fight. But during a bus ride to Donald Trump’s inauguration in January, they showed a more amicable side to their interaction.

The unexpected trio snapped a viral photo together. However, things took a turn when Logan Paul later posted footage showing McGregor threatening to slap both him and his younger brother, Jake, as they exchanged trash talk during the tense and awkward ride.

On a recent episode of his Impaulsive podcast, Logan Paul shared that KSI won’t be attending his upcoming wedding due to their ongoing feud with Jake Paul. In an effort to mediate the tension, Paul tried to persuade his PRIME business partner to set aside their differences, using his recent meeting with Conor McGregor as an example of how even bitter rivals can come together to mark a significant moment.

However, Paul did acknowledge that things could have easily escalated between him, Jake, and McGregor at any given moment. He hinted at the underlying tension that could have sparked at any time. The video was shared by Prime News Clips on their Instagram page and gave the fans an idea of what had actually happened. During the video, Logan, while speaking to Adin Ross, said, “We were on a bus with Conor McGregor.”

Logan further added, “It was simmering the entire time. We both said that if one person made one comment that was over the line, either of us would have thrown a punch. And he’s Conor McGregor, but there’s two of us.” Luckily for both parties, neither of them got involved in any kind of altercation at all.

Although the hype surrounding a potential clash between ‘The Notorious’ and the YouTuber-turned-WWE star was intense, it failed to come to a conclusion. The pair was also prepared to lock horns with each other. So why did the fight never reach a final stage? It seems Conor McGregor might have been the reason.

Conor McGregor and his UFC contract might just be the reason for the cancellation of the fight

Mystic Mac’ still has two fights remaining on his UFC contract. This could prove to be a major roadblock if he truly plans to face Logan Paul in India. The reason? As long as McGregor is under contract, Dana White holds the reins. It’s highly unlikely the UFC president would greenlight such a bout outside the promotion. Former UFC fighter Chael Sonnen reviewed the situation during one of his videos.

‘The American Gangster’ said, “Whatever industry you’re in—none of you, zero, have a job where your boss isn’t going to use you. Whatever department it is, whatever you do, your boss will not put you to work for another boss. That is not accurate.”

Adding to the improbability, ‘The American Gangster’ pointed out that not a single billionaire in India had shown interest in hosting a McGregor vs. Paul showdown. The former UFC fighter also feels that kind of initiative falls solely under government control. It’s not something private individuals have the power to influence or arrange.

In the meantime, the most realistic expectation is to see the Irish star make his long-awaited return to the MMA cage sometime in late 2025.
