Recently in the UFC’s betting preview show, Masvidal said, “I can tell you He’s in phenomenal shape, man. I’ve been there since the start of the camp.
“He came in shape. He wasn’t messing around. [Poirier] knew that third fight was going to happen at some point. It’s not like he went home and gave himself any slack.”
He added, “He came back full six-packed out, doing five rounds. Usually, I see him progress and he gets better every week. He came in on fight shape on Week 1 and he’s looking phenomenal. He’s going to hurt somebody.”
It is pretty sure that ‘The Gamebred’ is backing up his long-time friend Poirier. However, he was very honest while sharing his breakdown of the fight in the same interview.

Jorge Masvidal on Conor McGregor vs Dustin Poirier 3
According to ‘The Gamebred’ his long-time friend and training partner Dustin Poirier is ready for the trilogy fight. However, he thinks it is foolish for him to stand against ‘The Notorious’ striking skills.
‘Gamebred’ believes Poirier must get through those early rounds of the fight. As he thinks anything ahead of that is an advantage for Poirier.

While giving the fight breakdown Masvidal said, “I think Conor gets his timing better than anybody, faster than anybody. If he can’t get his timing right away [Poirier] has to move, chop his legs, grapple, and wrestle with him.
“I think Dustin is going to be more than ready for it. He faced him twice. He’s got a lot of strategies going into it. I think standup anyway because he’s dealt with it on two occasions, he knows how quickly he can find his timing.”
‘Gamebred’ believes that the Irishman is faster than anybody. However, he still thinks ‘The Diamond’ is more prepared this time, as he has faced McGregor twice in the cage. Moreover, Poirier would know some loopholes to the Irishman’s fighting style.
Even though it is hard to predict the one outcome of the spectacular fight, it is still going to be an action-packed treat for the fans.
