Sonnen was known for his grappling heavy game inside the octagon. While he was never a UFC champion, he created his own space within the promotion. Many consider him to be the best fighter who never won a championship.

While he has retired from MMA, he currently runs his own YouTube channel. Sonnen talks about issues related to the fight game on his channel. Recently, he posted a video about the evolution of MMA and predicted the outcome of Xiong Jing Nan vs. Angela Lee III at ONE on Prime Video 2.

In the video, Sonnen spoke about the philosophy of ‘Bruce Lee’, highlighting its importance for MMA fighters. He further spoke about how ‘The Notorious One’, Conor McGregor, draws inspiration from his philosophy.

Breaking down Bruce Lee’s philosophy, Sonnen explained what a fighter should actually be. Lee, known as the ‘father of MMA’ had several philosophies. One was to use those techniques which worked for each fighter.
