At UFC 304, Paddy Pimblett solidified his position as a dominant force in the lightweight division by defeating Bobby Green. This victory extended his UFC winning streak to six, placing him just one win away from equaling Conor McGregor’s record of seven consecutive wins to start a UFC career. Like McGregor’s popularity in Ireland, Pimblett has also become a major UK star, and this did not go unnoticed by former UFC fighter Brendan Schaub, who opined in the same.
In a recent Instagram post, Brendan Schaub declared Paddy Pimbleet on the cusp of Conor McGregor-leval stardom. He wrote, “It’s official @PaddyPimblett1 has arrived. What a win. If he keeps winning it’s the closest we have to @TheNotoriousMMA star potential #ufc304.” This is the highest praise Pimblett has received recently. Notably, the Bobby Green fight was the last on his current UFC contract.
While a contract extension hasn’t been announced, Paddy Pimblett has expressed interest in boxing and is currently training under Chris Williams, also Adam Cullen’s coach. Pimlett isn’t alone in exploring boxing. Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou fought against Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, and recently, Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz also faced off in the boxing ring.

However, Brendan Schaub’s post about Paddy Pimlett also drew significant attention from the audience and MMA fans who were dissatisfied with the comparison. Some even claimed the post was paid, raiding doubts about Brendan Schaub’s underlying MMA business.
