‘You either die as a hero or live long enough to see yourself to become the villain.’ This quote from The Dark Knight is largely applicable to Conor McGregor. Although not in a literal sense, the Irishman has gone from holding two world titles simultaneously to losing three of his last four fights. Courtesy of the same, Henry Cejudo seems to have jumped off the McGregor bandwagon a long time back.

McGregor was known for backing up his trash talk in the cage before he was plagued with losses in his recent fights. Despite still being the biggest draw, his credibility as a fighter seems to be run out in the audience’s eyes.

It is no surprise that Triple C and the Notorious do not like each other. McGregor recently retweeted an old Tweet of Cejudo applauding the Irishman. However, Triple C clapped back with stating the obvious difference between 2016 and now.

Henry Cejudo: Credibility is a fickle friend

Captioning his tweet, Cejudo said, Fine @TheNotoriousMMA, I did tweet that in 2016. Since then, you’ve lost 4 of 5 fights. Your persona is over. You’re not that dude no more. You should fight @jakepaul, you two are meant for each other. You might even win! (but prolly not).”

This was in response to a now-deleted tweet from McGregor’s part, a congratulatory tweet from Cejudo in 2016.

Henry Cejudo further owned up to what he once said on his show ‘The Triple C & Schmo show.’ Cejudo stated in the video, “I did say that. Because you know what, Conor McGregor, at that time in 2016, he did walk the talk. He was everything he was saying…But guess what, man. His persona is over, he’s not that dude no more like people know that it’s just an act, and he doesn’t have that juice no more.”

He continued, “He’s just a dude that at one point was able to manipulate himself to world titles, and people bought into it, he was able to use his hands, but I think once people realized that front leg was there, people started chewing that thing up. I do believe Conor McGregor is good in certain areas… but he won’t get better. He’s stuck in his own fame, he’s stuck in his own head.”
